In the movie Cloverfield, how many monsters were there?

I'm so confused. The monster in the beginning had like 400 babies and the monster at the end, the one in Central Park, looked completely different. The monster in the beginning had tentacles. Also, what knocked down the bridge?|||I at first thought there was only one, but the one in the end did seem a lot smaller than the one destroying sky scrapers. There are rumors that there was more than one Also there may had been another one in the ocean. Possibly two were featured in the film one destroying the city and one destroying the bridge. I guess we wont find out till a second one is made. The angle of the shots of the monster also had a effect on the size of it so it may have been deceiving to many people when in fact it was always the same size.|||those little babies were the crab looking things, like parasites. what knocked down the bridge was his tail. when we saw it in the central park was only the front of him, which was the first time we pretty much saw it.|||I believe there was 2 monsters . one with two long legs and tenticles. and the aligator looking like one on the tvs. the aligator one was the one responsible for knocking down the bridge. whos to say that two monsters did not come out of the meteor.|||1. Only one...it just spawed the babies...it had a tail
