Can a Vancouver fan please explain to me why Burrows got a penalty after being knocked down in the face off?

Game 5. I just don't understand this sport. The refs appear to be completely biased against Vancouver. Could someone please explain to me what's going on?|||Apparently Burrows dived on the play...

but look at the replay the player clearly tripped burrows by pulling his leg forward with his leg

refs are just bias against Canadian teams all the time been like that since the early 2000's|||I'm a B's fan so you'll probably think I'm biased but Burrows, at least three times last night, fell to the ice like he'd been shot and got no call. The refs, for once, seemed to call those dives like all of us sitting in our living rooms would, with no call. Good for them.

Then he and Lucic got into a pre-faceoff dustup, were warned, and then Burrows stepped over Lucic's stick after being warned, Lucic took offense and tried to regain position, Burrows flopped.

Since Lucic had been previously warned, he got the 2 minutes, tripping was the most convenient penalty to assess. Burrows got the two for embellishment because everyone, in the building, and watching on tv, knew exactly what he was trying to do.|||Burrows was illegally placing his skater in front of Lucic's which he can't do. He did it twice and was called for unsportsman's conduct: Embellishment. Which means he took a dive and was NOT tripped.

But if it was embellishment (which it most definitely was) then why did they give Lucic the trip call? It should have been unsportsman's conduct for both, if anything. Or nothing at all for Lucic due to the embellishment.

Also, there is no bias against Vancouver. They are just getting caught at the tactics they continue to do.|||Sorry...not a Canucks fan (or Bruins fan for that matter) but I will explain it. Burrows has earned a reputation among the refs and that isnt going to ever help his cause....when he chose to flop when Lucic had his stick near his skates AFTER the refs got done warning him twice it was too easy for the ref to call. Never....never....ever embellish such a simple play right after the refs get on you and in particular never do it to show up the ref in your home building....they WILL repay you in kind. Add in the fact it was Burrows and any unbiased fan could see that coming very easily. Did Lucic trip him? Sure he had his stick in Burrows skates but in one second Burrows ca play physical and battle with strong position while getting banged around and then suddenly he goes flying with a simple stick on a skate? No bias involved by the refs....easy call made really easy by Burrows who had to know they were watching him....and again one only needs to know his history with refs in the first place ( in particular his issues with Stepane Auger).|||To go along with what Kay said both Lucic and Burrows were warned right before that, and Burrows stepped over Lucics stick twice and on the second time you saw him "fall" on purpose when you watch it in real time. Lucic got called for tripping while Burrows got unsportsman like conduct

@G.G it has been my argeument for years that you cannot call a trip and a dive on the same play, but very very rarely do you see just a dive called by itself. I do agree with you but I cant give any reason why Lucic was called for it.|||Sorry I'm not an actual Vancouver fan, but I am rooting them on to win the Stanley Cup since my team is out of the playoffs. Anyways I honestly have no idea why Burrows got that penalty either. I thought they said he "Embellished" it, meaning he made it worse than it looked.......which makes no sense whatsoever because Lucic clearly tripped him. What was Burrows supposed to do, try and not fall on the ground? It made no sense to me either. I think the reffing has been poor all around truthfully. Last nights game they made some stupid calls early on but then they seemed to let the guys play. I hate it when refs call stupid penalties on players in any game let alone in the Stanley Cup Finals, so I wish they would keep just letting them play hockey.|||They showed lots of replays on this last night. He put hit right leg in front of Lucic's stick, on purpose, and then fell down, making it 'look' like Lucic had tripped him with his stick. He was playing dirty and got punished for it.|||They both got penalties for, I believe, unsportsmanlike conduct. It was four on four for two minutes. No bias by the refs, just a warning to both teams to knock that crap off in the face off.|||Boston Got the penalty for Cross Checking and Burrows for ''apparently'' acting, and the slash on Tim thomas didn't help.|||Don't ask for a Vancouver fan, rookie. Ask for a CLASSY fanbase.|||Burrows stuck his skate over the Bruins' player's stick before the faceoff and tried to draw a penalty. The refs saw right through it.|||not a vancouver fan, but he got a penalty because he was pushing and shoving krecji as well. though burrows fell, he did just as much as krecji did
