Do you need planning permission to live in a static caravan while you rebuild your home after a fire?

My house caught fire and was gutted. I had no insurance. I may have to knock it down completely and rebuild. O r may be able to renovate some amount. Do I need planning permission to live in a static caravan, whilst this is completed.|||hi there.

A static caravan is a temporary structure so can be put in place without planning permission.

you will need to inform the council though, to asure them it IS temporary and not the start of an unofficial campsite. They may require a change of use notification, but they will tell you that.

Good luck, Steve.|||Probably not for the caravan but you will need PP before you knock the house down and/or rebuild plus building regs - best thing you could do is go to the planning office and ask them. Depending how old your property was building regs may have changed.
